I work independently for local businesses in Bytom and Silesia, creating websites from scratch, tailored to specific client needs. From my experience, I know that many companies don’t know when their current website is actually harming their business. Here are 7 signs that mean it’s time for a new website.

Most important terms in this article

  • Core Web Vitals – Google metrics evaluating speed, stability, and responsiveness of your website.
  • Call to Action (CTA) – buttons and messages that guide users to contact or purchase.
  • User Experience (UX) – visitor's impressions while using your website.
  • Content Management System (CMS) – admin panel that lets you edit website content.

7 signs you need a new website:

  • 📉 Drop in Google inquiries and lack of new customers
  • 📱 Website looks bad on mobile
  • ⏱️ Website loads slower than 3 seconds
  • 🔒 No HTTPS (green padlock in browser)
  • 🎯 Unclear what user should do on the website
  • 📅 Last update was... a long time ago
  • 💰 Website doesn't translate to customer inquiries

1. Drop in Google Inquiries

When you notice that:

  • Fewer people find you on Google
  • Number of form/phone inquiries decreased
  • Competition disappeared from first page results

This isn’t always about content - often it’s technical website issues. Older CMS systems often have:

  • Outdated SEO algorithms
  • Problems with indexing new content
  • Technical errors blocking Google

Working independently, I can guarantee that every website I create is optimized for Core Web Vitals and Google’s new requirements.

2. Website Looks Bad on Mobile

In 2025, 70% of website traffic is mobile. If:

  • You need to scroll horizontally to see something
  • Elements overlap each other
  • Buttons are too small
  • Font is unreadable

That’s a loss of 70% potential customers. Modern websites I create:

  • Completely adapt to every screen
  • Load faster on phones
  • Have optimized touch elements

3. Website Loads Slower Than 3 Seconds

Google shows that after 3 seconds, 53% of users leave. If:

  • Website loads longer than 3 seconds
  • Images “jump” during loading
  • Animations slow down browsing

That’s direct customer loss. Websites I create:

  • Load in 1-2 seconds
  • Use modern technologies (Astro, Tailwind CSS)
  • Are optimized for Core Web Vitals

4. No HTTPS (Green Padlock)

Lack of green padlock in browser:

  • Creates distrust among customers
  • Negatively affects Google rankings
  • May block some website functions

Every website I create:

  • Has free SSL certificate
  • Automatically redirects from HTTP to HTTPS
  • Is secure for users

5. Unclear What User Should Do

When visitors:

  • Don’t know how to contact you
  • Don’t understand what you offer
  • Don’t see call-to-action (CTA) buttons
  • Get lost in navigation

This is an information architecture problem. Creating websites from scratch:

  • I design clear user paths
  • Place contact in key locations
  • Create intuitive navigation
  • Test user experience (UX) with real users

6. Last Update Was… A Long Time Ago

If the last website update was:

  • Before 2020
  • By a previous programmer who’s no longer available
  • In technologies that are no longer supported

That’s a security risk and loss of functionality. Websites I create:

  • Are modern and current
  • Don’t require heavy maintenance
  • Are fast and secure
  • Easy for future expansions

7. Website Doesn’t Generate Inquiries

The most important signal - lack of results:

  • Few customer inquiries
  • Low visit conversion
  • Customers don’t respond to website

This means the website isn’t fulfilling its purpose. Creating custom websites:

  • I analyze real needs of your customers
  • Design for specific business goals
  • Optimize for conversion
  • Test and iterate until achieving results

Expert advice:

You don't have to wait for a crisis. Regular website modernization is an investment in the future. Better a small step each year than a major breakdown once every 5 years.

When Not to Change Your Website?

Not every website requires complete change:

Keep if:

  • Website loads fast (<2s)
  • Has good Google rankings
  • Generates inquiries
  • Looks good on mobile devices

Change if:

  • One of the above signals appears
  • Loss of internet customers
  • Negative website reviews

FAQ

How much does a new website cost?

It depends on needs. Minimum business card website: from 800 PLN. Comprehensive website with blog: from 1200 PLN. Working independently, I offer competitive prices without intermediary markups.

How long does creating a new website take?

First version: 1-3 weeks. Full website with all features: 2-5 weeks. Much depends on client decision speed.

Can I transfer old content?

Yes, but it’s not always worth it. Old content often has SEO problems. Better to create new content optimized for current Google requirements.

Summary

Your website is your business card. If it:

  • Doesn’t attract new customers
  • Looks outdated
  • Loads slowly
  • Doesn’t work on phones

It’s time for change. Working independently, I can create a website that:

  • Exactly meets your customers’ needs
  • Loads lightning-fast
  • Converts visitors into customers
  • Builds trust in your brand
